Will Aid: Make a Will and help charity Monday 1st of November 2010
We are delighted to announce that Cuff and Gough will be taking part again in this years Will Aid “Make a Will month” campaign.
Will Aid is a fundraising campaign involving nine of the UK's leading charities (ActionAid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Age UK, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire) The objective of the campaign is simple but compelling: to encourage people to make a Will with a solicitor and at the same time raise vital funds for the Will Aid charities.
During the month of November, participating solicitors are drawing up basic Wills and, rather than charging a fee, invite clients to donate to the Will Aid group of charities. The suggested donation is £75 for a single Will and £110 for a pair of mirror Wills. All the money goes to nine UK charities to support their work with people in need here and around the world.
To make a Will through the scheme, contact us to book an appointment as soon as possible. This offer is only open for 30 days and appointments are filling up fast.
According to the latest Will Aid research, over 60% of British people do not have a Will often because they mistakenly believe that their loved ones will automatically inherit. This may not be the case, as countless families have found to their cost. Those most in need of a Will are the least likely to have one. This includes people with children, stepchildren and children from previous relationships, those who are separated but not divorced and those who live together without being married or in a civil partnership.
In these difficult times, people need to use the money they have wisely. Writing a Will is the only way to ensure that the money and possessions people have worked so hard to gain are passed on to those they care about. If you die without a Will, the laws of intestacy could mean that your estate could be shared with distant or even estranged relatives rather than those you love.
