Employment Law
The area of employment law is a potential minefield for the unwary. At Cuff & Gough we are mindful of the risks and pitfalls and can help our clients to avoid these.
We act for both employers and employees, which gives us a useful insight into how the other side thinks and acts. We aim to resolve issues amicably and at an early stage, however, if this is not possible, we are well equipped to take your matter through the tribunal or Court process.
For Employers
We undertake both contentious and non-contentious work and are able to advise at all stages of the employment relationship from inception to termination. We are happy to act for you on a one off basis; however, many of our clients use us for ongoing, occasional advice. We can assist with the following:
- Drafting employment contracts
- Drafting and advising on the correct policies and procedures, such as redundancy
- Negotiating settlements
- Drafting and advising on Compromise Agreements
- Avoiding claims, by advising on the correct procedure to dismiss an underperforming member of staff
- Representation at the Employment Tribunal against all claims, including unfair dismissal claims and all forms of discrimination
For Employees
If you believe that you are being, or have been unfairly treated by your employer, a call to a specialist employment solicitor can often set your mind at rest. John Hoey will be happy to talk to you about your matter and will be able, at an early stage, to advise you on your most appropriate course of action.
For more information on any of the above call John Hoey on 01737 851 827.

What our customers say

“I had cause to instruct Mark in relation to my own employment situation. As a lawyer, not specialising in employment, I have high standards and expectations from other legal professionals. From the outset Mark represented me diligently and expeditiously. He was available when I had a query and I have no doubt that the end result was due to his effective representation."
I would have no hesitation in recommending him.” Darren Flick
