Will Signing and Coronavirus

corona update 2 april

This time of restricted movement has only heightened the importance of having up to date wills in place. At Cuff & Gough LLP we would like to reassure you that we continue to be available to deal with your enquiries and take your will instructions.

The witnessing of wills has, however, required a more inventive approach, given the requirement to sign in the presence of 2 independent witnesses.

Some of our clients have signed with their witnesses on the other side of a window. They have then put the wills on the front step for the witnesses to do likewise. Others have set up tables in their front garden with neighbours standing in their own front garden. They have signed, stepped away and allowed the witnesses to come forward and sign whilst still maintaining a safe distance from each other.

This list is by no means exhaustive and, at Cuff & Gough LLP, we would love to hear your suggestions as to how your will could be safely executed at this difficult time.

Stay safe and well
